Service and missions have always been an important part of life at FMC Bryan.

As a church that has been richly blessed in many ways, we continually seek to share God's love

with our community and the entire world through our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.

    304 W. 26th Street, Bryan, TX 77803

    (979) 822-2660

First Methodist Church, Bryan is a proud supporter of the Brazos Church Pantry. The Brazos Church Pantry shares the love of Christ by providing food to those in need in Brazos and surrounding counties. From its humble beginnings in 1986, the Church Pantry has grown to over 30 participating churches from many denominations all over Bryan and College Station. Governed by a Board of Directors and staffed completely by more than 125 volunteers, the Pantry now serves over 1,200 families and distributes over 62,000 pounds of food each month. 100% of the income received by Pantry comes from donations. 95% of this money goes directly to food; the rest goes to expenses such as utilities and supplies. There has never been anyone paid to work at the pantry.

  • Brazos Valley Walk to Emmaus

The Walk to Emmaus is a spiritual renewal and formation experience intended to strengthen the local church through the development of Christian disciples and leaders.

The Walk to Emmaus experience begins with the prayerful discernment and invitation from a sponsor who has previously completed a Walk. Once the invitation is accepted, an application is completed. The Emmaus leaders prayerfully consider each applicant and in God's time, the person is invited to attend. At this point, the applicant (called a Pilgrim), is invited to attend a three-day experience where they have the opportunity to have God's grace and love revealed to them through other believers.

Following the three-day experience, Pilgrims are invited to join in small groups which support one another in their ongoing walk with Christ. This accountable discipleship allows the participants to develop their individual gifts and servant-leadership skills, and offers encouragement to find ways to live out their individual call to discipleship at home, church, and in their community.

Please contact the church office to become a Pilgrim at (979) 779-1324.

Meal preparation, agape coordination and prayer partnering is a function of Kairos and is performed by the Support Team who serves the mission from outside of the prison.
